Dropping a Table

Tables can be dropped in BearDB using the following DROP TABLE syntax:

DROP TABLE myTable

Note that BearDB does not really drop a table. When a DROP TABLE query is issued the data representing that table is archived to a backup file.
If it is necessary to get back a dropped table, just rename the file for that table from myTable.dat.bak to myTable.dat in the /data directory of the BearDB server. Restart the BearDB server to make the table available again.

BearDB is delivered with some system tables. These system tables do not allow DROP statements to be executed.
